RIVERSIDE, California — About 800 racers met in Fairmount Park on Saturday to take part in the Lexus LaceUp Running Series presented by Equinox.

The final event of a four-part series in Southern California included a Half Marathon, 10k and 5k. Due to pouring rain the day before, the courses were rerouted for safety reasons but that didn’t prevent hundreds of racers and spectators from coming out.

Race day conditions were perfect. Participants showed up in elf and santa costumes—ready to embrace the holiday spirit. At just below 50 degrees, it was a bit chilly as racers took off, but it slowly got warmer and warmer as daylight emerged. It was clear, sunny and beautiful for the post race celebration at the Health & Fitness Expo. All racers-from 5k to Half Marathon-enjoyed receiving high quality Road Runner Sports brand race tech Tees, a finisher’s medal that also doubles as a stylish beverage coaster and a post race party with an amazing high-energy playlist made personally by the race director herself, Becky Hall. After the race, runners refueled with deliciousness from on-site food trucks: Bacon Mania, The Grilled Cheese Truck and Classic Tacos Truck.

Vendors at the Health & Fitness Expo included Lexus,  Clif Bar, and Disney, among others. By the way, don’t forget to enter our sweeps contest to win VIP tickets to see Disney’s McFarland, USA and a $300 Road Runner Sports gift certificate. Click here to enter!)

LaceUp Running Series was also happy to announce the Pear Sports Challenge winner: Alberto Guerremo. He was part of the elite group to complete at least 3 of 4 LaceUp races. Guerremo ran four Half Marathons and was randomly selected to win. His prize, a 50-inch Vizio flatscreen.
