2020 LaceUp Races Have Been Cancelled

All Runners will be Automatically Deferred to 2021

 

COVID-19 Statement – Sept. 22, 2020

With great disappointment, we have made the decision to cancel Orange County, Palos Verdes and Riverside. Unfortunately, this means there will be no LaceUp races in 2020.

This was a difficult decision, but we feel it is the best option to ensure the health and safety of our runners, staff and everyone involved in the LaceUp race community. Our primary goal is to provide the best running experience at each race including an intimate race setting, unique perks and a lively post-race party with a beer garden and food trucks. Given the current circumstances, that was simply not feasible this year. 

All 2020 registrations will be automatically deferred to 2021. When 2021 registration opens, you will receive a code to redeem that is equal to the amount of your original race entry. You will not receive a partial refund if you register for a less expensive race or distance. You will need to pay the difference if you register for a more expensive distance or race.

A special thank you to the municipalities of Irvine, Palos Verdes, Palos Verdes Estates and Riverside, including their stakeholders and authorities, who have worked with us in partnership and service.

2020 FAQs

What do I have to do to defer my 2020 registration to 2021?

You don’t have to do anything! Your registration will be deferred automatically.

When will I receive my coupon code to register for 2021?

When 2021 registration opens, you will receive a code to redeem that is equal to the amount of your original race entry. Registration will likely open in late 2020.

Can I sign up for any 2021 LaceUp race? 

Yes, your coupon can be applied to any 2021 LaceUp Running Series race. 2020 runners will have to register by a certain date to secure their spot.

I purchased race insurance. Can I receive a refund?

Unfortunately, no. Race insurance is only valid when individuals need to withdraw from a race for personal reasons. However, if you have purchased event registration insurance for a race and have a question or claim, please contact Allianz Global Assistance.

What happens if I have a conflict and can’t make any of the 2021 event dates? 

If you are unable to attend any of the 2021 event dates, you can transfer your coupon to someone else.

What happens if I sign up for a less expensive race or distance? 

You will not receive a partial refund if you register for a less expensive race or distance.

Can I upgrade my race or distance?

You will need to pay the difference if you register for a more expensive distance or race.
